I identify as a cis-gendered heterosexual woman of color, my ancestral lineages come from Colombia and India and I am a first generation citizen of the United States of America. As a result of my experiences living in the US and traveling abroad, I am acutely aware of the many different systems of oppression that operate in the world. The business model I am trying to practice isn’t perfect, but it is important for me to try and find ways that we can redistribute wealth in a radical and heart centered way. As such, I have decided to offer sessions for folks who come from marginalized communities that have a different pricing structure compared to those who do not come from those communities.
Everyone on this planet does have some combination of both privileged and oppressed identities, so as I mentioned previously, this model is not perfect. However, the Justice and Equity pricing I am offering are for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) & Queer communities. These communities have historically and systemically been either denied access to wealth and resources or have had wealth and resources stolen from them.
I am experimenting with this business model and have talked to some folks who also follow a similar model. I am interested in learning more ways so if you are interested in discussing, please email me at email@example.com.
Lastly, I would like to take a moment and thank my friend Stella who inspired me to try this business model after we discussed my desire to find ways to dismantle the systems of oppression that operate in our world while still having a way to make a living offering my medicine.
